Warner
James Cartwright Warner was born in Gallatin, TN, in 1830 and moved to
Chattanooga in 1853 to open a hardware store after working in a Nashville
hardware store. He was the mayor of Chattanooga in 1861. He moved to Nashville
as was elected Cashier of the Union Bank in 1866. In 1867 he became the
Secretary of the Tennesee Coal and Railroad Co. and soon took over as
General Manager.
