Change Bills
October 15, 1862 -- Series K
Only the 50¢ denomination was issued for Series K, which is a very scarce
issue. No notes from this series are listed in Garland's book. The signature
on the note for the superintendent was changed to Robert Hayne Rowland
(October 22, 1841 - November 25,1869), who was
the son of the superintendent, John Sharpe Rowland. He purchased land in Cass County
(now Bartow), Georgia in 1839 and built a sizeable plantation of over 2,500 acres
which was called "Etowah Valley".

January 1, 1863 -- Series L
Only the scarce 10¢ denomination was issued for series L. However, a 25¢
with forged signatures is known. The 25¢ change bills were probably stolen.
It was unissued. However, the bill was redeemed by the state of Georgia
and canceled and thus was accepted by the authorities as authentic. No
notes from this series are listed in Garland's book. The signature on
the note for the superintendent is R. H. Rowland.

March 1, 1863 -- Series M
Only one type of change bill, the 50¢ with forged signatures is known
from the M Series. The 50¢ change bills were probably stolen so they were
unissued. However, the bill was redeemed by the state of Georgia and
canceled and thus was accepted by the authorities as authentic. No notes
from this series are listed in Garland's book. The note is printed on
the back of a Bank of St. Mary's note. Only one of 50 cent notes are known
to have survived.
